Serapio M. Baca, PhD, is an Assistant Researcher in the Neurology Department at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Baca received his Phd in Neurosciences at UCSD where he examined the role of inhibition in sensorimotor processing in an invertebrate model system. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in systems neurobiology at UCLA in the neural control of respiration field before joining Dr. Charles' headache and treatment research group.

Dr. Baca's present research interests are to understand the role astrocytes play in migraine and to identify brainstem circuits that are involved in migraine pathophysiology.
